Kana as a VoiceType AI alternative
A cross-platform dictation tool at voicetype.com, sold on speed. It claims 360 words a minute and shows a wall of desktop app integrations. Not the same product as Voice Type from carelesswhisper.app.
What VoiceType AI does better
VoiceType's Tone Match reads which app you are writing in and adjusts how the output sounds without being told, and it covers Windows as well as Mac across a long list of named integrations, in 35+ languages. It also sells a one-time lifetime licence, which over a few years undercuts any subscription. Kana applies no tone of its own unless you turn rewriting on, and it only runs on a Mac.
